This is pretty fascinating.
“Imagine being able to remember every minute detail of your life. You can recall what the weather was like, what you were reading or what you wore to the shops at any minute, any hour or any day stretching back decades. It sounds like some kind of parlour trick, but it’s actually a real and very rare medical phenomenon.”
I don’t know if there is a spectrum for this ability, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there was. I can remember quite a bit about my life starting from about 12-13 years old. Most days I can deal with it just fine, but other times it is like a chain reaction of jumping from one moment to the next. I can remember full conversations, settings, emotions, and whole bunch of other details. Thankfully, I don’t get anywhere as deep as these people with events, days and dates; often times down to the minute.
It can absolutely suck when I need focus or concentration but I do have my ways of taking the edge off the flood of memories. I’m Certainly glad I don’t have to deal with what they have.
