Totino’s Pizza Rolls In Air Fryer

How to Cook Totino’s Pizza Rolls in the Air Fryer

Last Updated: April 22, 2025

Discovering the perfect way to cook Totino’s Pizza Rolls is like finding culinary gold for busy families and snack enthusiasts. While these bite-sized pockets of pizza goodness have traditionally been prepared in conventional ovens or microwaves, the air fryer has revolutionized how we enjoy this classic freezer staple. Air fryers deliver that coveted crispy exterior while maintaining a piping hot, melty interior—all in a fraction of the time it takes to preheat and bake in a conventional oven. Plus, you’ll achieve that perfect golden texture without the need for additional oils. Whether you’re preparing an after-school snack, game day appetizer, or quick midnight treat, this guide will help you achieve pizza roll perfection every time with your air fryer.

How long to cook Totino’s Pizza Rolls in an air fryer?

This summer we invested in an air fryer. I’m going to start keeping a log of what works for time and temperature. There are plenty of air fryers out there, but we ended up going with the Cosori XL 5.8 Quart:

Today’s adventure: Totino’s Pizza Rolls. They were on special at Costco yesterday, so we picked up the big box. Here’s what I did:

Totino’s Pizza Rolls in Air Fryer Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer at 380° F (or about 195° C). In our Cosori, this takes 4 minutes.
  • Fill the basket with frozen Totino’s Pizza Rolls (as many or as few as you need). Don’t worry about overlapping as they’ll all cook just fine.
  • Air Fry at 380° for 5.5 minutes and give them a shake halfway.
  • No need to add extra oil. Just plate and serve (but make sure you don’t burn your tongue).

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to thaw Totino’s Pizza Rolls before air frying?

No! One of the best things about using an air fryer is that you can cook Totino’s Pizza Rolls directly from frozen. In fact, cooking them from frozen helps maintain their structure and prevents them from becoming soggy.

How many pizza rolls can I cook at once?

This depends on your air fryer size. In our 5.8 quart Cosori XL, we can comfortably fit about 25-30 pizza rolls in a single layer. If you need to make more, you can stack them, but you may need to add an extra minute to the cooking time and shake more frequently.

Do different flavors of pizza rolls require different cooking times?

In our experience, all Totino’s Pizza Roll flavors (pepperoni, combination, cheese, etc.) cook in approximately the same amount of time. However, if you notice certain flavors tend to burst more quickly, you might want to reduce the cooking time by 30 seconds.

Are air-fried pizza rolls healthier than oven-baked or microwaved?

Air-fried pizza rolls contain less oil than deep-fried alternatives. Compared to oven-baked, the nutritional content is similar, but they cook much faster and have a better texture. Microwaved pizza rolls tend to be soggy, making air frying the superior option for texture while maintaining similar nutritional value.

How do I know when my pizza rolls are perfectly cooked?

Perfectly cooked pizza rolls should have a golden-brown, crispy exterior. When you pick one up (carefully!), it should feel firm to the touch but not hard. The first few times you make them, you might want to cut one open to check that the filling is hot throughout. But the pro tip is to keep an eye on them. As soon as you start to see the fillings escape from the pizza roll, that is your sign to stop cooking.

Troubleshooting Tips

Problem: Pizza Rolls Bursting Open

If your pizza rolls are consistently bursting and leaking filling:

  • Reduce the cooking temperature to 370°F
  • Check them 1 minute earlier than the recipe suggests
  • Make sure to shake the basket halfway through cooking to ensure even heat distribution

Problem: Undercooked Centers

If your pizza rolls are crispy outside but still cold in the middle:

  • Try reducing the quantity of rolls in the basket to allow better air circulation
  • Increase cooking time by 1-minute increments until centers are heated through
  • Consider lowering the temperature to 370°F and extending the cooking time by 1-2 minutes

Problem: Sticking to the Basket

To prevent pizza rolls from sticking to your air fryer basket:

  • Make sure to preheat the air fryer properly
  • Give the basket a light spray with cooking oil before adding frozen rolls
  • Shake the basket more frequently (every 2 minutes) during cooking

Problem: Uneven Cooking

If some rolls are overcooked while others remain undercooked:

  • Don’t overcrowd the basket; cook in smaller batches if necessary
  • Ensure you’re shaking the basket halfway through cooking
  • Arrange the rolls in a single layer when possible for more consistent results

Enjoy your perfectly crispy, evenly cooked Totino’s Pizza Rolls! They make a great quick snack or fun addition to any casual meal. Just remember to let them cool for a minute or two before taking that first bite—the filling gets incredibly hot!
